The East and Central Africa Social Security Association – ECASSA

East and Central Africa Social Security Association (ECASSA) is an umbrella body formed in March, 2007 by seven member states (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia and Zimbabwe), in response to need by social protection institutions to work more closely in the interest of improving the quality and effectiveness of social Security services to the people of the region. ECASSA is headquartered in Arusha, Tanzania. The principal activities of the Secretariat are to foster cooperation, promotion and development of social security and related matters to the East and Central Africa member states.
